I much prefer Rosetta Stone. The speed of the total immersion method far surpasses anything else. I appreciate the constant review I get throughout the course, as well as good instruction in all aspects of using the language: vocab, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and even writing.

After checking out Rocket and several other systems, I went with Rosetta Stone and couldn't be more pleased. Retention is easier and faster; and there's absolutely no opportunity to be given the answer. Motivation to understand is much higher.

All three of my daughters (14, 12 and 8) are learning with me, and we practice together. My 8 year old hasn't had any trouble at all! Each of us goes at her own pace.

Note: Purchasing all three levels of Rosetta Stone at once saves a significant amount of money, and the headset/microphone is included with the package purchase at no extra charge.

Also Note: There is a detailed grammar lesson included in every lesson, which is very easy to follow. The grammatical patterns are more than apparent. I don't know if I would recommend RS for someone who wants to learn English, however, as there are far too many exceptions to grammatical and phonetic patterns in English, but for any romance language, Rosetta Stone is the absolute BEST!

I was surprised when I did the sample course of Rocket italian that the non native speakers american accent was very pronounced. Is that true of the entire course?? If so, it wouldn't be the course for me. I would much prefer to hear only a true italian accent while learning.
